In late May, the Jordan Ireland Business Association coordinated with the Embassy of Ireland in Amman the First Business Delegation visit to Ireland.
Planning for this visit the focus was to connect with the vibrant ICT sector that Ireland has built, build links with the start-up ecosystem in Ireland and identify clear opportunities for IT-outsourcing to Jordan.
Int@j, the ICT Association in Jordan, worked closely with JIBA and the Embassy to assist with forming a strong itinerary that will meet the visit objectives and see to the representation of the ICT sector in Jordan. Top Jordanian ICT organizations as Bayanat, JoPACC, Skytech, and Int@j were part of the delegation.
Key meetings were held with IDA, Guinness Enterprise Centre, TechIreland, Dogptach Labs, ICT Skillnet Ireland and Code Institute. The delegation also met with Irish companies CR2 (Banking software) and Intuition (Digital Learning & Knowledge Solutions).
JIBA had previously organised a successful webinar with int@j on the ICT sector in 2021, and figures indicate the growing trade between Jordan and Ireland in tech.
In the weeks following our visit, CR2 announced the expansion of their offices in Amman that have grown to approximately double their capacity of the past few years and new focus on the opportunities for them in Jordan and the region.
With the ongoing work of the Embassy of Ireland in Amman and the activities of Jordan Ireland Business Association, we look forward to continued growth of the Ireland Jordan business relationship.
