Who We Are

The Jordan Ireland Business Association (JIBA) was officially launched under the patronage of the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Dr. Tariq Hammouri, at a reception held in the St Régis Hotel, Amman, on Wednesday the 11th of September, 2019.

The launch of JIBA which follows the opening of the first Embassy of Ireland to Jordan in January of Last year, demonstrates the strong interests of the Jordanian and the Irish governments in rapidly strengthening the trade relationships between the two countries. That is to say, the launch of JIBA is a huge and important milestone in this regard, according to a JIBA statement.

Collecting information about existing trade relationships and areas where trade growth is feasible.

Business Meetings

Conducting bi-monthly business meetings focused on distinct thematic sectors of interest to JIBA members.

Business Visits

The planning of visits by business delegations from Ireland to Jordan and from Jordan to Ireland

Engagement

The engagement of key Irish and Jordanian political and business leaders to guide the work of the Association

B2B Partnerships

The arrangement of business introductions and the organization of business to business events.

OUR OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the Jordan Ireland Business Association (JIBA) are as follows:

PRESS STATEMENT

His Excellency Dr. Tariq Hammouri, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply officially launched the Jordan Ireland Business Association at a reception held in the St Régis Hotel, Amman, this evening.

The launch of JIBA, follows the opening of the first Embassy of Ireland to Jordan in January of this year and the interest of both Jordanian and Irish Governments in strengthening trading relationships between our two countries.

Today’s launch of the Jordan Ireland Business Association is a hugely important milestone in this regard. Over coming years, JIBA will work with the Governments of Jordan and of Ireland, and with the business community in both countries to forge new trading relationships which will be to the benefit of both countries.

With this objective in mind, JIBA will convene bi monthly meetings, of Irish and Jordanian, business representatives. It will arrange visits by business delegations to Ireland and from Ireland to Jordan. It will facilitate the establishment of business to business relationships across key sectors.

In his remarks during the launch this evening, Ambassador of Ireland and JIBA Co-Chair Dr. Vincent O’Neill stated:

This is a hugely important day for Ireland and for Jordan. By working with the Embassy of Ireland and the Irish Governments State Agencies such as Enterprise Ireland and An Bord Bia, JIBA can make a hugely positive impact not just on Jordanian businesses but on the lives of Jordanian citizens.
