Jordan Ireland Business Association returns to physical events with a discussion on the Investment opportunities between Jordan and Ireland

On Tuesday May 17^th 2021, Minister Khairy Amr Minister of Investment Jordan, Ambassador of Ireland Dr. Vincent O’Neill, CEO of the Jordan Strategy Forum H.E Nsreen Barakat and Chairman of JIBA Mohammad Tahboub jointly attended a business networking event held by the Jordan Ireland Business Association.

The event, which was attended by the Irish Ambassador to Jordan, Dr. Vincent O’Neill, the Executive Director of the Jordan Strategy Forum, H.E Nisreen Barakat, and the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Investment, Mr. Zaher Al-Qatarneh, as well as a number of Jordanian and Irish businesspeople, focused on discussing investment opportunities between Jordan and Ireland.

H.E. Khairy Amr, Minister of Investment, urged the Irish private sector to take advantage of the economic and investment opportunities in Jordan, which is regarded as a gateway to the region’s markets due to its unique geographical location and numerous free trade agreements that allow Jordanian products to reach more than a half billion consumers across the region.

Ambassador Dr. Vincent O’Neill discussed Ireland’s experience in attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) despite the country’s challenges, and how FDI is now a key component of Ireland’s successful economy, as well as the potential for cooperation between Ireland and Jordan in knowledge sharing and building institutional links to strengthen the two countries’ relationship.

H.E. Nisreen Barakat and Mr. Mohammad Tahboub gave presentations at the event that highlighted investment potential in Jordan and Ireland in industries such as pharmaceuticals, information technology, education, tourism, and food.
